Happy Friday! I'm thinking this will be my regular schedule going forward, posting a blog each Friday. Speaking of schedules, that is the topic of today's blog. If you follow me on Instagram, you have seen a few pictures of my planner lately. I've found that keep a stricter schedule helps me be more productive. It also allows me to schedule time off for myself, something I might neglect to take otherwise.
The planner is a relatively new development in my routine and a reminder that there is always room for growth and improvements. Looking ahead, I realized I needed it to help me stay organized. With Book 1 currently being edited, I needed to ensure I am allocating the correct amount of time to everything I have coming up. My first goal is to wrap up my first draft of Book 5 by the end of this month. As of this writing (the night of July 15th), I have five chapters to go. This gives me roughly three days to complete each chapter, which I feel is quite achievable. Working at my usual rate, I think I will wrap up on schedules, and be able to take the few days off I have scheduled for myself before Book 1 is returned to me. The month of August is pretty much wholly dedicated to Book 1 and preparing it for publication. Realizing how close I am to having it ready is a bit surreal. There is still a lot of hard work to go, but I will soon be editing the actual story itself for the final time. As strange as it will feel to be done with it, I am ready. I think I could recite the entire thing by memory at this point. The first draft of Book 6 will be my NaNoWriMo project this November. After that, I will draft the outline for my next trilogy before going back and beginning to edit books 4 through 6. A full plate, but one I am eager to tackle. Do you keep a set writing schedule or set deadlines for yourself? Wishing you all a safe and productive weekend! ~Pete Follow me on social media! Instagram Youtube
