We've reached another Friday, so it's time for what you've all been waiting for! That's right; another Friday blog has arrived. I find myself quite busy with various projects this week, so this one will be a simple recap of where I am at with those projects. Keep an eye out for my blog next week as well, where I plan to discuss the copy-editing process for Book 1.
So, let's get down to business. As you may know, I currently have six different books in different stages of production. Let's discuss each of them, shall we? Book 1: Hopefully, there will be a title here soon. I have a working title, and the more I think about it, the more I think it will become official in the near future. It came back from my copy-editor on Monday and I have been working away at revising sentences, and reviewing her notes. The map that will be featured in this trilogy is also in the works, by an actual artist, not my chicken-scratch. As soon as I'm done with the edits, I will beginning getting the book set for print, and then we can get cover art finalized. This book is taking up most of my August, but is still on schedule for a release in spring of 2021. Book 2: I've done about four drafts on this book, and have received good feedback from a few readers. I have some time slotted in September to go through again, and ideally, make it better. I'm hoping to get this one to the editor in late spring or early summer of next year for a late 2021 or early 2022 release. Book 3: The conclusion of this first trilogy is three drafts in. My wife is my first reader, and she just started on this one. I will be revisiting it in October for more revisions. Overall, I'm very happy with the conclusion it brings to this trilogy. For this, we're most likely looking at a late 2022/early 2023 release. Book 4: I wrapped up my first draft on the first book of a new trilogy back in February. I haven't touched it since. My plan is a bit different with this set, I will be editing and re-writing all three books at once, beginning in December or January. I'm hoping this helps maintain consistency in voice for all three. Book 5: Pretty much the same as Book 4, though I just finished this first draft last week. I left a few cliffhangers at the end of this one, and look forward to resolving them. Book 6: The final book of this second trilogy is currently in the percolating phase. I will be outlining it in October, and it will be my project for NaNoWriMo in November. I've enjoyed writing this trilogy and can't wait to write the massive, action-packed conclusion its characters deserve. That's all I've got this week. As I said earlier, check back next Friday for my perspective on the copy-editing process. Now, I have to get back to work on Book 1! Until next time, ~Pete Follow me on social media!
