Happy December 1st! NaNoWriMo 2020 has concluded, and I am pleased to declare myself a winner, albeit by the skin of my teeth. I just hit the 50,000-word mark yesterday, but I'll take it. I hope those of you who were participating also found success.
Writing the third book of a trilogy is challenging, even more so when you have given yourself a thirty-day time limit. That being said, I'm quite happy with what I have so far. I think I've delivered a strong ending to this trilogy, even if this book is badly underwritten. There will be a lot of gaps to fill when I go back to edit this thing in the next month or two. This was my first Nano, and while I enjoyed it, I'm not sure if I will participate again next year. I'm not ruling it out. But I am already plotting my next trilogy and thinking about doing something a little different. Stay tuned for more details. Since we have discussed Nano and not much else over the past month, I thought I would give a quick breakdown of where I am with my various projects below. Book 1: Publishing in Spring of 2021. The release date and title reveal may be coming in the next month, so be sure to stay tuned. The interior map and cover art should be completed soon. Right now, I am turning my focus back to writing a strong blurb for this one, something I keep doing and redoing. Book 2: This one is about ready for the editor. I will actually be booking my editing date for this one right quite soon. Should release Spring of 2022 at latest, though I am considering a more rapid release. Time will tell. Book 3: I think I have one more draft to go through this one before it is ready for the editor, and I will probably do that in a few months. It will probably end up heading to the editor late next year for a Fall of 2022 release. Books 4 - 6: These are all still in first draft status, and their first round of edits will be my next project for the first few months of 2021. Books 7 - 9: These are conceptually ready to go. The first drafts will be written in 2021. I'm just working on deciding exactly how I want to go about it. Well, that's all I have for now. I'll be back soon with a new blog.
