My First Attempt At Blogging

Welcome to my blog, which I suppose means I finally have my official website up and running. Safe to say it's still very much a work in progress. My first novel will be receiving its cover art in the coming months, so this site should hopefully get a bit prettier as time goes by. I'm going to make an effort to post here regularly, like it or not. Whether or not I will produce anything of value remains to be seen. 

I'm sitting on my deck while I type this, and it's raining. It rarely rains here at this time of the year, so I'm enjoying it while it lasts. I spent twenty-five years or so living in the Midwest, Illinois and Wisconsin. I prefer living in the Inter-mountain West in most regards, but I do miss the rain and thunderstorms (and I could go for a good deep-dish right now). The wife just left this morning to visit family for a few weeks, so I am fending for a while. Four hours in, and nothing is on fire yet, and all the pets are still alive, so that's a start.

Speaking of pets, Bubba, our biggest cat, is staring at me through the patio door. He really wants out here, or he really wants his food or both. If he thinks I'm letting him out in the rain and dealing with that wet fur smell when he comes in, he can forget it. Usually, when we let him out in the back yard, he's found and murdered a few mice within minutes. You would think they would stay out of our yard by now, but no, apparently they have a death wish.

So what is the point of this blog? Well, maybe you should tell me what you want from it. Feel free to leave a comment below with your thoughts. I plan on talking quite a bit about the publishing process as I go through it over the next year. I have a few book reviews planned, so look for those soon. For my next blog, I will probably post a more detailed description of the series I am working on, so I'm sure you're all on the edge of your seats for that.
