We're back for another edition of the Friday blog. If you've been a regular follower, you know I'm currently working on a new draft of my second book. This is a direct sequel to Book 1, which will be releasing in the spring of 2021. So, since I don't have much else to say this week, I thought I would provide an update.
It's been going smoothly, for the most part. I find I stall a bit on chapters featuring my antagonist, of which there are quite a few in this book. Other than that, it's been smooth sailing. I have about seven chapters to go. After that, I will read the book and decide on my next move. My gut feeling while working my way through it, it that the time to book its professional edit is near. If this opinion holds up after my reading, I will advance to what I call my "CTRL-F edit". This is where I assemble the manuscript in its entirety and search for errors I know I commonly make. For example, in Book 1, I overused the word "clearly" to a ridiculous extent. I've assembled a list of these mistakes I have identified in my work in the past, and am continually adding to it. Once that is done, on to the editor it will go. At this point, I am planning on releasing this book one year or so after its predecessor, but who knows? If all goes well, maybe it will come early. We'll keep it short and sweet today, but I'll be back next week. Stay safe until then! ~Pete Follow me on social media! Instagram Youtube
