Welcome back for one of the last Friday blogs of 2020. I don't know about you, but I'm sure ready to put it behind me. That being said, it hasn't been all bad. I'm just wrapping up a two-week vacation from my day job. As you can imagine, I am not looking forward to getting back to the grind on Monday. My time off had almost all been spent at home, wrapping up Nano, moving on to other projects, and having some ample relaxation time.
I figured for today, I would just look back at 2020 as a way of reminding myself how much I have accomplished. I wrote the first drafts of two and a half books this year. I was halfway through Book 4 when the years started, wrote Book 5 in the spring/summer, and then Book 6 for Nano. I'm not working on my first round of edits for these books and am happy with the storylines, if not the copious numbers of typos I am finding. Book 1 is closer to publication than ever. It will release in the spring, and I'm really looking forward to it. I opened my own publishing house a few weeks ago, making this feel nice and real. Book 2 is also getting closer. I have a few things I want to adjust before it goes to the editor, but it is closer to the end than it is to the beginning. This was the year I really started building an author platform, and I'm pleased overall with my progress. My Instagram, in particular, is doing well. I'm looking for more ways to expand on my other platforms; look for some content on my Youtube in the near future! There will be a link below where you can subscribe and be one of my OG subscribers! How exciting. I'm hoping to use it to post the occasional Vlog as a supplement to these written blogs. So, while 2020 has had its share of challenges (I'm supposed to be at a Christmas Market in Germany right now), we need to remind ourselves of the good as well. Putting all of these things down in writing has been helpful for me in realizing this. Maybe you should try it as well. Well, I'm going to stop typing and enjoy my Friday off. I've been enjoying some retro gaming on my Nintendo 64 today and needed to take a break from my Mario Kart rage. I hope you have a nice relaxing weekend! ~Pete Follow me on social media!
